In February many small jobs needed to be done.

First I attach the tankstrips and name plates. It is not that easy, as it looks like on a first glance. After I glued theses parts with SikkaFlex - a professional construction glue - I fixed the parts with tapes. The glue takes some days to become solid.

Meanwhile I received the contact rivets for my cut-off relay. I inserted the contact rivets, attached the cable for the generator signal lamp contact and done the adjustment of the relay according to the manual. I recognized, that the metal relay cover - some aftermarket part - seems not fitting perfectly. It looks to me, that the gaps for the contacts are too small. This could become a problem, due to the vibrations of the engine, the metal cover could short-cut the contacts. I solved this by putting an isolating shrink hose arround the contacts

During the assembly of the rear wheel I figured out, that the read brake connection rod is too close to the read fender. Therefore I tried to bend the rod - but it got broken. I manufactured my own connection rod - because I worked out so well, I manufactured both connection rods. Finally I painted them in dark black.
Looks nice- fits perfectly!
Afterwards I assembled the saddle post. It turned out that there are several springs used before - but non of the seems to be according to the manual. I decided to order a complete new set of saddel post springs. Arno helped be again by manufacturing the read spacer studs for the saddle. After I had all parts for the saddle assembly together I parkerized them before assembly.

The wiring job worked out well - without serious issues. I soldered the iginition spark cables within the connectors to ensure a good contact under any condition. I didn't trusted the small spike which was stiched into the ingnition cable. My socket for connecting the tickle-charger and the main fuse socket I hided in the tool box.

The remianing time within February I spent to remove the chrome from the excaust pipeset and from the oil pipes. It was an awful and dirty job. I asked Andy to powder coat these parts. He will use the same high-temperature resistant powder-coating as he used for my cylinders. We will see if this will work over the time, in special at the exhaust pipeset.
