Without crutches, but still shaky, I start to assemble the clutch and rear brake controls.
Furthermore I'm drilling holes in the foot boards for the rivets. The foot board pads I will fix additionally with Sikkaflex®. With Sikkaflex® I will also fix the name plates on the gas and oil tank, because they don't have any name plate brackets anymore. I will preserve this task for the winter period.
Meanwhile I got the painted cylinders from Andy. Pale-black painting doesn't look too bad. Unfortunately I've forgotten to ask Andy to paint the inlet pipe also. So I need to ask him again.
Now it is time to assemble the engine. I start with the tappet guides.
The assembly of the valve spring covers are driving me mad! The original rubber gasket is not easy to handle. In addition it turned out, that some of the covers were not original, they were even bad quality reproduction parts. I decided to order a new set of complete valve spring covers with O-ring rubber gaskets from Bernd.
Before I can sleeve the cylinders over the pistons I need the painted inlet pipe from Andy. So I have to wait. Without having the inlet pipe, it would be impossible to align the cylinders in such a way, that the inlet pipe is connected to the cylinders in a tight way.
Meanwhile I'm assembling the generator. Unfortunately I have no chance to test the generator in advance.
