Beyond horizon

As long as the parts were at the paint shop and out for powder coating I focused on these tiny tasks, which also take a lot of time. Which indicator lights are suitable? Fixing worn out parts, production new brackets for several parts. But in special these small task have their own challenge, which I like also.
I started with the development of the solo saddle front mount. I didn't wanted to modify the frame for this, therefore the mount is fully detachable.
The rear brake pedal was in a horrible condition. It seems to be there was an accident, where the brake pedal pivot got broken. A specialist did a welding job - as ugly as it can be. I developed a bushing for this pivot. A friend helped me to produce this bushing, which fits now perfect into the brake pedal.
The remaining time I spent to clean the engine and transmission.
The rear brake was in an unusable condition. The bushings of this banana type caliper were totally worn out. I didn't want to spend any more effort in this type of brake caliper, because I'm not convinced that this will last for long. I purchased a used rear brake from a FLH 1981. It works perfect - letīs see what the technical inspectors opinion will be regarding this modification.
Meanwhile the powder coated parts arrived. I spreaded all parts in the living room - just to keep the overview. The Gouvernment wasn't at home at those time!
The paint shop called in to do the final selection of the colour. I had to select between an endless number blue metallic colour tones. Its exactly as difficult as it sounds! The tank decal stickers also arrived and were applied on the gas tank. It is always fascinating for me, with such many technologies you have to deal with during such a restoration project.

Finally, after these artists jobs now some more solid work has to be done. The assembly of the bike has to start. First I mounted the bearing cups for the rear swing arm and the steering head.
